Apple Corps announced on October 20 that The Beatles Story will move to a much larger Liverpool city centre site in 2028. The company overseeing the band's interests plans an immersive attraction at the former St Johns Market, opposite Lime Street station, according to its announcement and Associated Press reporting.

The new premises will cover 100,000 square feet, more than four times the attraction's current footprint at Albert Dock, the announcement said. Apple Corps will operate the new destination in the city where John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr began their shared musical journey.

Organisers say the experience will combine original artefacts, reconstructed sets and immersive technology. Visitors will follow the band's story from post-war Liverpool through Hamburg and Beatlemania, with recreations of places including The Cavern, Abbey Road, Shea Stadium and Savile Row.

Some sets and props will come from Sam Mendes' forthcoming four-film Beatles project, according to the announcement. Sony plans to release those films worldwide in April 2028, with the new Liverpool attraction scheduled to open shortly afterwards. Separately, St Johns Beacon will house a Yellow Submarine-themed viewing experience offering panoramic city views.

The organisers say every ticket sold to The Beatles Story will contribute to the Apple Corps Liverpool Trust, intended to support emerging local artists and cultural projects. Further details of the charitable initiative will follow. McCartney and Starr welcomed the plans in statements released with the announcement, with Starr highlighting the support for new Liverpool talent.

The band's official website says the existing Beatles Story will remain open as usual during 2026 and 2027. Fans can register for project updates and notification of ticket sales. The Liverpool development is planned to follow another Apple Corps attraction at 3 Savile Row in London, which is due to open at the end of 2027.
