The Premier League delivered a weekend of high drama as Liverpool's 13-match unbeaten run came to a crushing end at Bournemouth, while Manchester United produced a stunning comeback to defeat league leaders Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

At the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, Bournemouth snatched a last-gasp 3-2 victory over Liverpool as Amine Adli scored in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time. The Cherries had raced into a 2-0 lead through Evanilson and Alex Jimenez, with Virgil van Dijk partly responsible for both goals after switching off defensively on two occasions.

Liverpool's problems were compounded when Joe Gomez collided with his own goalkeeper, forcing him off with an injury. Inexplicably, it took seven minutes for Arne Slot's side to make a substitution, leaving them with ten men on the pitch when Jimenez doubled the lead. Van Dijk pulled one back just before halftime, and Dominik Szoboszlai's excellent free-kick in the 80th minute appeared to have salvaged a point. However, Adli bundled home with the final kick of the game to seal a famous victory.

The defeat leaves Liverpool winless in five Premier League matches, their longest such run since January 2021, and drops them to fourth place with their position in the top four now looking precarious.

Sunday's showdown at the Emirates proved equally dramatic as Manchester United ended Arsenal's unbeaten home record with a remarkable 3-2 victory. Matheus Cunha scored an 87th-minute wondergoal to complete a stunning comeback that has reignited United's Champions League hopes.

Arsenal had taken the lead through a Lisandro Martinez own goal, but a loose backpass from Martin Zubimendi allowed Bryan Mbeumo to equalize before halftime. Patrick Dorgu then powered home a screamer early in the second half to give United the lead. When substitute Mikel Merino leveled for Arsenal in the 83rd minute, a draw seemed inevitable. But just two minutes and 58 seconds later, Cunha curled home superbly from distance to seal all three points.

The victory moves United above Chelsea and Liverpool into fourth place and is their second consecutive win under Michael Carrick. Arsenal's lead at the top has been cut to four points, with Manchester City lurking just behind in second place.

Elsewhere, Manchester City continued their steady form with a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton, while Tottenham drew 2-2 at Burnley and Fulham edged Brighton 2-1. The results set up a fascinating second half of the season as the title race and Champions League qualification battles heat up.
