Netflix's beloved Regency-era drama Bridgerton returned on Thursday with the highly anticipated Season 4, Part 1, introducing viewers to the romantic journey of Benedict Bridgerton and the mysterious Sophie Baek.
The new season, which debuted January 29, 2026, focuses on the titular family's bohemian second-oldest sibling Benedict, played by Luke Thompson, who has long resisted settling down despite persistent pleas from matriarch Lady Violet Bridgerton. His world changes dramatically at his mother's masquerade ball when he becomes captivated by a masked Lady in Silver.
Yerin Ha joins the cast as Sophie Baek, Benedict's love interest whose surname was updated from the original novels to honor the actress's Korean heritage. Sophie is not the society lady Benedict believes her to be, but rather a resourceful maid working for the formidable Lady Araminta Gun, played by Harry Potter star Katie Leung.
The season is based on Julia Quinn's third Bridgerton novel, An Offer from a Gentleman, and follows Benedict as he enlists his sister Eloise, portrayed by Claudia Jessie, to help uncover the identity of his mysterious Lady in Silver. The romantic complications intensify as Benedict navigates society while his true love remains hidden in plain sight.
Fan favorites return for the new season, including Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton as Penelope and Colin Bridgerton, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley as Anthony and Kate, and Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet. Adjoa Andoh returns as Lady Danbury, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, and Julie Andrews continues her role as the voice of the infamous Lady Whistledown.
New additions to the cast include Michelle Mao as Rosamund Li, Araminta's beautiful and ambitious eldest daughter who sets her sights on Benedict, and Isabella Wei making her acting debut as the kinder younger sister Posy Li.
Season 4 will comprise eight episodes released in two parts, with Part 2 scheduled to premiere on February 26, 2026. The series continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its blend of Regency romance, family drama, and social intrigue.
